Planning to Save the Tasmanian Devil
Published: 12/04/2011
The iconic Tasmanian devil is under serious threat of extinction as the heartbreaking Devil Facial Tumour Disease races through the population in Tasmania. More than 90% have been lost from some regions of Tasmania and the species faces the very real threat of extinction.
The Appeal is raising vital funds for the Save the Tasmanian Devil Program, Australia's official response to this devastating disease, and the partnership with Collins Debden will take the message about the plight of the Tasmanian devil through millions of products.
The arrangement is expected to raise substantial funds for the cause through in-store promotions and fundraising by Collins Debden, their customers and general public consumers.
"The deal with Collins Debden marks our first major corporate partnership in a multi-year arrangement," says Save the Tasmanian Devil Appeal manager Jess Tyler.
"The catalogue of diaries and planners for the 2012 calendar and financial year—including a gorgeous limited edition diary—features the devil and there will be a proactive campaign at all levels of the Collins Debden operation to support our cause.
"Collins Debden has thrown a massive amount of energy and enthusiasm into the partnership making them the largest partner ever for the Appeal and a model for the way forward to help save the Tasmanian devil."
"Now and then you have the opportunity to make a difference," says Collins Debden managing director Steve Ferretti.
"In 2011 Collins Debden is taking seriously its lead sponsor role as it supports the Save the Tasmanian Devil Program Appeal, in an attempt to help Australia avoid what could only be described as a potential national tragedy if we allow this animal to be lost."
