In 2016 organise a Black & White Fundraising Day – our ambitious goal of a vaccine is in sight but we need your help!

With a goal to raise over $25,000 in 2016 the Save the Tasmanian Devil Appeal’s annual fundraiser “Black and White Day” promises to help our Tassie devil even more.

We are again calling on schools, businesses, community groups and work places to raise funds for the Tasmanian devils' fight against Devil Facial Tumour Disease (DFTD) and to help secure a future in the wild for the Tassie devil.

There is much to be celebrated - funds raised through Black and White Day in 2015 supported vaccine research, genetic testing and disease monitoring!

But ongoing funding is vital! Our ambitious goal of a vaccine is in sight but to do this we need your support!

Asher celebrated his 11th birthday in Black & White style, Mount Eliza Primary School got in early and ran their fundraiser and SRC’s around the country are working on ways to help.

It's so easy to take part, you can email us for details at Devil.Appeal@utas.edu.au  or call us on 03 6324 3527. To find out more information, download the 2016 Black & White Fundraising Day flyer.

Teachers – you might like to incorporate the day into the science curriculum – the Australian Curriculum lesson website provides some ideas about endangered and threatened species.

Did you know the Tasmanian devil became Tasmania’s first animal emblem in 2015?

The Teacher’s Kit on the Save the Tasmanian Devil Program website is a fantastic resource as is the Tasmanian Devil Information for Kids provided by the Wildlife Management team at DPIPWE.
